train station. BILL walks from the platform into the waiting room;
looks up at the board announcing trains. Starts to walk off.
SALLY
appears behind him.
SALLY
Wait!
Bill
hesitates, then continues.
SALLY
Please
wait!
Bill
turns.
SALLY

I
just want to talk to you.
BILL
Talk?
SALLY
Talk.
With you.
BILL
Why?
SALLY
Does
that seem so strange? We see each other every day...
BILL
I
have to--
SALLY
Why
don’t you want to talk to me? You look at me.
BILL
Me?
SALLY
Of
course you do. Every day, in the Quiet Car.
BILL
In
the--
SALLY
On
the train. You know we sit in the Quiet Car, don’t you? So I can’t
talk to you there.
