Sprite Fight

From the Saint John Theatre production

The dressing tent of a summer theatre production of "A Midsummer Night’s Dream". Costumes, a makeup table with mirrors, Bottom’s donkey head, and other paraphernalia spread about over folding tables and chairs. The stage is OL, for that is where APPLAUSE is coming from at the rise. It is evidently the final curtain call.
JESSIE, the director of the play, and TED, the producer, are standing in the middle of the tent, looking OL. As the applause dies down, they look at each other.
JESSIE
Okay, are you satisfied?
TED
No.
JESSIE
I’ve missed the curtain call of Midsummer Night’s
Dream. The director misses the curtain call. On opening night.
TED
Some things are more important than even a curtain call.

JESSIE
So you’re going to make me miss the buffet reception, too? Will that satisfy you?
TED
It’s not about--
JESSIE
The cast is going to need this tent. They need to change.
TED
We have to settle this first.
JESSIE
There’s nothing to settle.
TED

There is if you want to have a second night to go with your opening night.
